Kingston Creative, Fresh Milk and the American Friends of Jamaica | The AFJ introduce CATAPULT | A Caribbean Arts Grant – a group of six new initiatives supporting Caribbean Creatives. These funding opportunities will increase the visibility of over 1,000 Caribbean-based artists, creatives and cultural practitioners to global audiences, provide much needed financial support, and develop the creative skills of our artists. Now more than ever in light of COVID-19, it is critical to think about artists having an online presence, valuing the work of Caribbean artists, and enabling their growth.
Through the Caribbean Creative Online component of CATAPULT, artists are invited to record or livestream a performance, talk, webinar, workshop or other online activity on the platform of their choice.
The content may take the form of an artist speaking about their practice, conducting a “how-to” workshop or demonstration, hosting a virtual festival or book reading, delivering a studio tour, performing a play, or expressing any aspect of their creative practice online, whether live or pre-recorded. Each artist will receive a grant of $500 USD and a maximum of 100 artists will be selected.
Artists will be selected from the English, French, Spanish and Dutch speaking Caribbean by an independent regional jury.

Ces opportunités de financement augmenteront la visibilité auprès d’un public mondial de plus de 1000 artistes, créateurs et acteurs culturels basés dans la Caraïbe, leur fourniront un soutien financier indispensable et développeront les compétences créatives de nos artistes. Maintenant plus que jamais à la lumière du COVID-19, il est essentiel de soutenir la présence en ligne des artistes caribéens, de valoriser leur travail et de contribuer à leur croissance.
Grâce à la composante Créateurs caribéens en ligne de CATAPULT, les artistes sont invités à enregistrer ou à diffuser en direct une performance, une conférence, un webinaire, un atelier ou toute autre activité en ligne sur la plateforme de leur choix.
Le contenu peut prendre la forme de l’artiste parlant de sa pratique, conduisant un atelier ou un tutoriel, organisant un festival virtuel ou une lecture de livre, effectuant une visite de studio, interprétant une pièce de théâtre ou exprimant tout aspect de sa pratique créative en ligne, que ce soit en direct ou en préenregistré.
Chaque artiste recevra une subvention de 500 $ US et un maximum de 100 artistes seront sélectionnés.
