TERN is proud to be exhibiting within the EXPOSURE section, Booth 472, of EXPO Chicago with Chicago-based Jamaican artist, Leasho Johnson, and Nassau-based Bahamian artist, Heino Schmid.
We will be presenting mixed media abstract works by both artists. Johnson’s large to medium scaled works are usually made with charcoal, watercolor, acrylic and other materials on gessoed paper mounted on canvas. Schmid’s large to medium scaled works are acrylic and charcoal on paper. Schmid will also be presenting assemblages made of wood, plaster and found objects. Though their practices are opposing, both artists center the body through figurative abstraction allowing sites for intimacy and obscurity.
Expo Chicago is on view from April 13th to 16th, 2023 at the Navy Pier.

TERN est fier d’exposer dans la section EXPOSURE, stand 472, de l’EXPO Chicago avec l’artiste jamaïcain basé à Chicago, Leasho Johnson, et l’artiste bahamien basé à Nassau, Heino Schmid.
Nous présenterons des œuvres abstraites en techniques mixtes des deux artistes. Les œuvres de grande à moyenne échelle de Johnson sont généralement réalisées avec du fusain, de l’aquarelle, de l’acrylique et d’autres matériaux sur du papier gesso monté sur toile. Les œuvres de grande à moyenne échelle de Schmid sont de l’acrylique et du fusain sur papier. Schmid présentera également des assemblages de bois, de plâtre et d’objets trouvés. Bien que leurs pratiques s’opposent, les deux artistes centrent le corps à travers l’abstraction figurative permettant des lieux d’intimité et d’obscurité.
L’Expo Chicago est présentée du 13 au 16 avril 2023 au Navy Pier.
