Cayman’s art lovers have been able to appreciate the development of Avril Ward’s work over the years, as she continually experiments with new techniques, themes and mediums to engage, delight and intrigue. Her latest work, a solo show entitled ‘Scratching the Surface’, does not disappoint, an exciting mixed media collection that draws in and challenges the viewer with every piece.
The exhibition launched last week and runs until 3 March, and so there is plenty of time to view Avril’s talent. It’s located at a cool spot called Parcel 110, a community art space which is on the third floor in Cardinal Avenue in George Town. Parcel 110 is a light and airy, relaxed and laid-back location where artistic minds of all genres can come together and share their poetry, artwork, music and general artistic expression.

Les amateurs d’art des îles Caïmans ont pu apprécier l’évolution de l’œuvre d’Avril Ward au fil des ans, alors qu’elle expérimente continuellement de nouvelles techniques, de nouveaux thèmes et de nouveaux supports pour attirer, ravir et intriguer. Son dernier travail, une exposition solo intitulée “Scratching the Surface”, ne déçoit pas, une collection passionnante de médias mixtes qui attire et défie le spectateur avec chaque pièce.
L’exposition a été inaugurée la semaine dernière et se poursuit jusqu’au 3 mars. Vous avez donc tout le temps de découvrir le talent d’Avril. L’exposition se déroule dans un endroit sympa appelé Parcel 110, un espace artistique communautaire situé au troisième étage de Cardinal Avenue à George Town. Parcel 110 est un lieu lumineux et aéré, détendu et décontracté, où des esprits artistiques de tous genres peuvent se réunir et partager leur poésie, leurs œuvres d’art, leur musique et leur expression artistique en général.
